We have constructed a green roof for a high-bay warehouse!
We have constructed a green roof for a high-bay warehouse! The height of the building with the green roof is 29 m, and its area is nearly 4,100 m2.
The roof is made of a lightweight structure, which is why it was necessary to use the appropriate green roof technology. The load capacity of the floor was precisely balanced with the type of substrate, which could not be too light so as not to be exposed to wind blowing and too heavy so as not to exceed the allowable floor load in a saturated state. For this build, we used a relatively light substrate (saturated weight - 1300 kg/m3). It is worth remembering that when setting up green roofs, many aspects should be taken into account, such as wind and rainfall or snowfall. Roofs at high altitudes are exposed to strong winds that can blow away the layers of the green roof.
The implementation works were carried out on the basis of the specification, which precisely defined the wind uplift forces and the load on the roof of the hall. On its basis, the appropriate roofing technology was selected, which will ensure the success of our green assumption for many years.
